If there is a time to discover the true soul of Capri, it is when the sun sets on the horizon and the light of dusk envelops the island in an enchanted atmosphere.

Exploring Capri at night is a unique experience that you should not miss during your trip to Italy.

Find out why an overnight visit to Capri is an absolute must and what is the best way to do it.

Why visit Capri in the evening?

Capri in the evening is less crowded

While during the day Capri is crowded with tourists, the evening hours offer an opportunity to enjoy the island with greater serenity. In fact, the streets are quieter, the restaurants less crowded, and you can enjoy the natural spectacles with a cozy feeling even if it is in the peak tourist season.

Most people who visit Capri, in fact, do not experience the magic of the island at night because, indeed, staying on Capri can be expensive and most tours and public connections occur during daylight hours.

Enchanting atmosphere

Another reason why I recommend visiting Capri after sunset, when the sun hides behind the horizon and the sea is tinged with warm hues, is because this is precisely the perfect time to immerse yourself in the island’s unique atmosphere, which you can experience and feel both during a boat tour and in the hours you spend on the island.

The best way to visit Capri in the evening: sunset boat tours

As I wrote to you above, most people who visit Capri and do not sleep on the island do so during the day because of the limited number and schedules of public transportation.

In my opinion, since I think it is important to be able to visit Capri in the evening, I can tell you that the best way to visit and reach the island in the evening is through a group boat tour.

We at Expert Travel have designed a sunset and evening boat tour of Capri that allows you to experience the island even at its most magical hours.

How does our boat tour of Capri take place at sunset and evening?

First, one of our drivers will pick you up at about 3:30 p.m. from the nearest meeting point to your hotel in Sorrento or the surrounding area. From here you will be transferred to the departure port to begin your adventure.

While sailing along the coast of Sorrento, you will have the opportunity to admire the natural and historical beauty of the region. From Marina Grande, the ancient fishing village, to the remains of a Roman villa at the Bagni della Regina Giovanna, to the striking natural waterfall that cascades from the rock.

Once you arrive in Capri, the boat tour of the island will be a sight for your eyes. With stops at Wonderful Cave, White C ave, and Green Cave, you’ll get to explore the hidden wonders of sea caves. Along the way, you can’t help but admire the Natural Arch, Curzio Malaparte’s villa, the Faraglioni at sunset, and the striking Punta Carena lighthouse.

During the tour, there will be two stops to allow you to swim and snorkel in Capri’s crystal clear waters. You can also enjoy a relaxing break on board with snacks and drinks graciously offered.

You will then be disembarked in Capri, between 6:30 and 7 p.m., where you will have time to discover the beauty of the island at a time that is usually less crowded than during the day.

The return will then be from the port of Capri for a departure around 10:30 p.m., with a heart full of indelible memories of this extraordinary experience.
